How/Why can a psychic lose their gift?
« on: March 18, 2013, 06:52:28 AM »
I've been pondering this question ever since my last go with my one and only reader. It seems she had lost whatever gift she had. Seeing the other percentage rates of others, I probably could have rated her much higher for all the outcomes she predicted for me that came to fruition over the couple of years I read with her. But the last 6+ calls, not one thing has happened as she said. Not one. Has anyone else experienced this - where a favorite reader was so right, and after some time, was just wrong - on EVERYTHING??

What I do know is this: since the time I started reading with her until now, she has become very successful, financially, and even does a radio show of some sort now, too. Also, every time a prediction would not pan out, I would call back, ask why it didn't happen. So, not only was I calling for predictions, but calling for a reason for failed predictions. I got sick of spending this money calling back about failed predictions, so I emailed her. I emailed her several times after the last time I spoke with her, because she did not initially respond to my emails. When she did finally respond, she didn't come out and say it, but she did strongly imply that if I wanted answers, I should call as this IS how she made her living.

I DO understand this is a reader's livelihood. But being as I was a loyal customer, and have spent so much on her, I didn't feel it was wrong to ask for an explanation after going back and forth so many times. So I am thinking that the reason for such failure was due to the glory of money, rather than glory to God. Idk.

Thoughts, anyone?

Hi Waterhouse,

This is a great question that I have often wondered about, especially since I think something similar happened to me with the person I used to consider to be my favorite reader.

I think there are potentially a lot of factors at play here.  When I look back at my connection with the person who used to be my "go-to" reader, it makes me wonder if I somehow "abused" the connection.  In my case, I called this reader all too often.  She would ask me not to call her so much, but I still would.  Some days I would call about something else and then would slip in a question about the ex just to get an update.  So, if there's validity to the idea that one can call a reader too much and can cause the connection to diminish, maybe I'm the poster child for that.

Another thing I have to take into consideration is that I started getting life coaching sessions from this person.  We got to know each other on a different level... it wasn't just a client calling a psychic for answers.  I revealed a lot about myself, and even came to think of this reader as a friend.  I'm not saying psychics can't read for their friends, but I wonder if the fact that we got closer may have diminished her ability to see my future as well as when I was just another username on Keen.

The difference in my case is that my reader finally admitted she was wrong about C.  One day, she actually sent me an email on her own and apologized for seeing the wrong outcome.  She said she couldn't explain what happened because she always saw us reconciling, but something went wrong and that was no longer the outcome.  She admitted that she's not perfect, and, quite frankly, I never expected her to be, but I won't lie... I was really disappointed because I really trust this reader.  I give her kudos for at least admitting that she was wrong.

My case is different than yours, Waterhouse, in that I continue to call my reader about work and new crushes and things of that nature.  Do I trust her as much as I used to?  No.  But then again, should I ever have trusted her as much as I did?  Maybe not.  I wasn't calling a direct line to God.

Also, I would say you have every right to be aggravated, irritated, upset, and angry with your reader.  Yes,  this is their livelihood, but this is your LIFE!!  If a reader has been telling you something over and over again for an extended period of time, the least they could do is admit they are wrong or respond to an email.  There's no excuse for not doing something as simple as that.  I'm lucky in that my reader was/is always responsive to my emails regarding previous readings.

I think our relationship with our readers becomes cloudy when we think of them as friends.  It's difficult not to think of them that way because we tell them our fears, desires, secrets, etc.  We talk about the things our friends just don't want to hear about anymore.  Sometimes I have to step back and stop myself from trusting these readers too much, even when they are accurate.

@Jen80: am looking forward to your post on this

@synergy: thank you for your insight and your own personal experiences. I too, had thought of this reader as a friendship as well, she knows so much about me. However, I hadn't called her for some time before this last go-around.

@all: I often wondered if maybe even it was ME who changed, or unintentionally put too much faith in those readings, instead of putting my faith in God.

 :)

My 2cents.....  :)...... I believe that if you/we are buying a service...psychics are a service....if we are not satisfied then they owe a refund, or at least half of a refund.

Hi Waterhouse,

Abrielle was that reader for me.  I would ask her for everything under the sun and she would nail it.  She got love reconciliations, housing stuff, jobs, everything right for me.  She also got exact dates.  I would literally wait for that date to come and her predictions would happen.  That's why I didn't understand that stuff about divine timing and dwelling.  I would sit and dwell and her predicitions were solid gold and this was for years.

Then one day I lost my connection with her.  I tried several times, but she never got anything right for me anymore.  I think this happens when you call a reader too much.  I think it's almost like teaching us a lesson to not rely on any human being like that for all of the answers.

Man, I miss my connection with Abrielle more than I could ever miss any ex!

Oh well...

Do you guys think there is a time frame between calls we should all strive for, or is it more about the situation having changes before calling again? I try to only call when there are changes that baffle me. But...I don't have a reader I fully trust yet.

Hey awesomeness its not good to get too many readings on a particular subject and even a reading period. It throws off energies, that's why usually first readings are the best.I think once a month is good. That is don't get any reading for at least a month. This reading thing is opening the door to the spiritual realm and when that door keeps opening you now risk false information coming through.

That being said its hard to do especially if you are at the early stages of anxiety and depression.

Its soooo hard.

I don't know if what I said made sense am sleepy lol.

Lol, yeah, that would be nice, but then they'd all be out of business. :) that's why the disclaimer: 'For entertainment purposes only'.

I have no problem reading only once a month on a certain topic once I have myself a reader that I know I can trust the information I'm receiving. Ya know?

i have noticed this several times with readers i feel connected to then all of a sudden they just start being wrong about everything. WhiteLightAngel was my go-to for a long time, though her short-term was certainly more better than long-term or outcomes. however, after a while, even the short-term stuff was very wrong.

it's happened again recently with a reader i have counted on and trusted for years. now it's like the accuracy has diminished big time.

i'm not sure if the reader starts to understand your life, actions, motives, etc and then becomes unable to read objectively or what. it is a shame, that's for sure. and i agree with some of you that said maybe asking about the same thing over and over with the reader can really just create some sort of screwy energy with them. but i guess that's why i try new readers a lot and then end up spending more money, trying to find another one to add to the go-to list.

I'm workin on it. I have a list of ones to try on Keen. I'm DONE with psychicaccess. My other lady is okay, but she will use info you gave in your last call and act like it's a new revelation to her on your next call.  ::) My first call with her was amazing, though!
