Looks to me like they are just tracking who is looking at what on their site. I think most retail web sites do this.

Most hosting companies have stats like that they can tap into. I had to do that for a section of one of my jobs websites last year. They are not tracking IP per se but rather hits and locations. Most home users don't have static IPs anyway.
