If this is the case, why is it that the first read can be mind blowing and the subsequent readings very far off the mark/flat out wrong.

it really depends on the question and subject matter. some questions can be easily answered quickly and others need more time to go in deeper and unravel the energy. having your questions ready will speed the reading time up if you are clear on what you want to know.
