I have mentioned this Ted Talk before, but wanted to share the link. It's an awesome (less than 15 minutes) talk regarding the depths of emotional pain heartbreak causes and steps to take to move on from someone. In the part where he talks about our memories being the methadone, I think so too are our psychic readings. Hopefully this helps someone.

Yes I agree memories, thoughts of the person, psychic readings are all withdrawal mechanisms and prolong the healing process. In fact for me personally, psychic readings took a big chunk of time in understanding and getting over the person.
