I am being told it's superficial and he has no real feelings for her. She is an ego boost that he can still get whomever he wants but once she wants something in return, he loses interest (this appears to be right from what has been happening on facebook.)

If you are obese or having other major health issues due to your over eating, then the answer is yes :)
